I found this to be very light and actually not that great. Would not buy again

This wine falls right into my every day drinking palate dry but fairly light on tannins. Dark fruits, not a long flavor other than a hint of dark chocolate. Decanted after first glass and it did open up a bit to more of the chocolate notes. Will certainly buy again.

Very easy drinking Bordeaux. Dry with heavy black berries. Not bad for the price, but nothing that stands out.

Chevalier du Grand Loc Côtes de Duras, Little Store, Dayton, Ohio, $13/750 ml; $60/wooden 6 pack. Average European retail price about $22. Cutting Edge Selections, Mairemont, OH 45227; 12.5 pabv; 60 percent Merlot, 40 percent Cabernet. Polished, rather dense glossy purple surfaces. Has also complex and glossy nose, with thyme, mustarded smoky cold cups, good focus. Energetic palate and quite savory. A very nicely made wine, well put together and offering much bang for the buck, attractive medium-full finish. I …

Very generic Merlot-heavy Bordeaux. Just another bottle of wine. Easier to drink than many higher scored wines, but absolutely no reason to buy this except for the rare appellation "Cotes-du-Duras." $12.99 OH retail www.austinbeeman.com
