Cork came apart and this was very over the hill. Dumped it down the Drain.

Very good classic style Barolo. Decanted for about two hours. A lot of sediment.

This is benchmark, old line Barolo. Should have decanted it, but it really didnt matter much as it opened up beautifully after 15 minutes in the glass. Lots of sour cherry cola and some floral flavors in a long complex finish. Yes, its 25 years old and at its peak, but thats the beginning of that place. Easily accessible for at least another 5 years. Wish I had more!

We did a short decant for sediment on the first night to have this with our lamb dinner. It was much more youthful than expected, but also coiled up tight and tannic. We ended up putting it back into the bottle and fridging it (opened a 2018 Reynvaan which was surprising ready to go and good with the lamb). Forgot about it for a few days and then when opened and brought almost room temperature it was amazing. The dark …

Slow oxed for about an hour. Should decant for sediment.. At first hosted dinner in Hillsboro with Hershes. Quite good. Purple with a slight tawny rim. Pretty textbook Nebbiolo with scents of tar and roses. Medium body despite its age. Tannins were well in check with black cherry and black plum fruit and a lively acidity. Doesn't blow me away but was a fine dinner companion to an Ottolenghi Very Full Tart ( Plenty) whose 2+ hours prep time worked …

This is aging spectacularly, pop and poured, light nebbiolo nose, almost nonexistent tannins, good mouthfeel and decent finish. Tar, minerals, earth, maybe some cherry and violet

Yes. Drinking well. Tannic sure, just enough. Classic version. Will last longer if you are kind to it. Everyone at the table appreciated this. Cheers.

David Wong below nails the note. This was a pleasant surprise, but even more so at how youthful it came off. It still has a few more years left in it, but really a pleasant drinker right now. Paired well with homemade sunday sauce, fusilli lunghi, meatballs and sausage. Great value from WTSO at $60 last year.

Decanted for an hour and drank over two. Surprisingly fresh for a 22 year old bottle. Seems fresher than my last experience with the wine two years ago. Medium ruby core with a pale garnet/orange-y rim. Eventually expressive nose, offering fresh aromas of raspberry, orange zest, sandalwood, tilled earth and leather, over subtle notes of rose petals and thyme. Ripe, juicy red cherry and raspberry and milk chocolate flavors lead into an earthy finish. The tannins are fully resolved and …

Low expectations, so was pleasantly surprised. I'm not the biggest barolo fan, but this was enjoyable over two nights, during which it remained tasty.

Opened for my son's 22nd birthday (he was born in 1998). Cork completely crumbled as i tried to open it, so i had to strain it into my decanter. Wine was okay but seemed to be on downward slope. Cherry fruit with orange rinds was fading, had some earthiness and a lot of acidity. It was okay, but not anything special

Decanted for 5 hrs. Pretty closed the first 3 hrs and then noticeably opened from there. Perfume nose that is a big reason I enjoy barolos. Strong acidity that is a bit balanced (but not totally) by cherry and red fruit. I wouldn’t have guessed this blind as 1998. Paired with homemade slow cooked bolognese in Dutch oven (yumm). I enjoyed it but it will probably not be a repeat purchase of this specific release for me. I got some …

Drank on a Tuesday night after a long day without any thoughtful food pairings...It was smooth and linear with a bit of earth and a smidge of balsamic that I had to try pretty hard to coax from the wine. The aroma was floral and reminiscent of aged Barolo. I think this while tasty and enjoyable was sadly edging towards past prime and should be drank sooner rather than later

I tried to open with regular corkscrew and brittle cork immediately broke apart. Fortunately, was able to salvage it with Ah So opener without losing the cork in the bottle. There seems to be a bit of controversy with this bottling. I agree it is on the downward slope, but still feel it is enjoyable. For me it was all black tea with a touch, but almost absent fruit and very little tannins. Still, it is smoot and enjoyable if …

Oxidized. We still finished the bottle and it was “drinkable” but definitely too far gone. Had that metallic, blood/rusty taste but had a little bit of cherry/acidic fruit flavor in there.

Good cru Barolo with nicely integrated red fruit/berries spice earth and tannin, still with plenty of life. Really shines with food, in this case braised beef. Decant recommenced but no real rush to drink.

Super tight even for 20 years later. A nice balance of raspberry and tannin, with medium sediment left in the bottle. This is a very nice value.

Decanted for two hours and drank over another two. Cherry, sandalwood and balsam. Youthful but restrained fruit balances nicely against the acid and tannins on a medium weight body. Very good.

Dark ruby with noticeable bricking. Upon opening the acid is dominant and the fruit seems to have faded. Two hours into it some fruit is unveiled along with sweet dark caramel notes. Fragrances of green plums, Dole mandarin orange fruit cup, dried orange peel with lemon oil accents. Fresh and full of vigor despite its age. Muddled strawberry and raspberry on the palate with a touch of vanilla on the follow through. Firm tannins which will probably outlast whatever fruit …

Great barolo that is aging very well. Nose was a little strange for my tastes but the wine was very complex, smooth tannins, great mouthfeel and long finish. Drank over a couple of hours after an hour decant --the bottle disappeared pretty fast. For $50 a great qpr! Would buy again.

Decanted for an hour before serving. Musty and almost stewy. The mustiness seemed to get slightly more pronounced over thenext couple of hours, which makes me think it might have been slightly corked, but I just think it was tired and not particularly pristine.
