Decanted into a cylindrical plastic pitcher which was then closed ≈1 hr 40 min prior to consumption; Throws some fine sediment N: Cherries (poss blkberries?) with notes of leather & definitely a savory aspect with hints of spice; P: Med, poss MF, body; Rndish entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) met by an astringent pucker which stays within hailing distance of the init frt as it QUITE works itself into & through the LONG, balanced finish with …

Decanted ~15 mins; Private Preserve after Day 1 N: A melding of cherries & minerals, notes of mint with addt'l air/swirling? P: Med body; Rndish entry with NICE, almost swtish frt met by a VERY slightly puckerish astringency which PRETTY much resolves by the LONG, balanced finish with hints of bitter/SWTNESS to the few very, VERY fine tannins remaining. // Day 3: Held marvelously! For now & into '21. 14.4% ABV; My EXC, particularly given this particular bottle was obtained …

Private Preserve after Day 1 N: Slightly closed; Minerals, iron, ripe frt (prunes?) P: MF, poss Med, body; ALMOST swtish frt with some mid-P structure, seamlessly morphing into a LONG, smooth, slightly spicy finish. [Note: Cork was relatively loose on this PnP'd wine.] // Day 2: Frt MORE developed on front P, finish still holding the course. While not my fav bottle of this (cork issues?), this still has PLENTY of stuffing & is not at ALL "tired". 91 pts …

Very good Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon - well balanced medium tannin and with elegant fruit - definitely a return back to this producer if you can find it in the northeast - a most pleasant discovery....

Still young. Open at least an hour before drinking. Gets better with time!

Top 10 Holiday Picks (San Diego Wine Co.) : N: Jammy; Fragrant berries/floral P: MF body; EXC frt on entry; BALANCED, seamless, VERY long, only slightly structure finish. More like the my impressions on 10/22/16 rather than on 10/29, though all 3 shared the "basics". Once again, my score takes into account the QPR of this vendor's $18.99.

Cabernet Classic (The WineSellar & Brasserie, San Diego, CA) : N: Seems a bit restrained; smoke, berries, opening to notes of coffee? P: MF, poss Med, body; Elegant with EXCELLENT balance, dusty tannins lightly firming. Nice stuff, & should hold for several.

Taste Cabernet Sauvignon (San Diego Wine & Beer Co.) : N: Jam (liggonberry?) yet with a sense of elegance P: Med body; EXCELLENT fruit with SUPERB balance; *VERY* long & perfectly seamless. Drinking EXTREMELY well -- & should hold for a good 3 yrs at least. [In his 91 pt review the WS's Harvey Steiman said this would be "best from '18 - '23," though, in all honesty, I can't IMAGINE it drinking... BETTER! Also, on the winery's website they've …
