Medium red with amber edge. Still nicely ogether, strawberry and sous bois. There is also a darker, liqueur-like note.

Funky before swirling. Properly mature strawberry fruit. Athletic, lively and in fine form.

So good. Textbook nose of sous bois and black cherry. More cherry and sous bois palate. The flavors are expansive and deep. The texture is velvety and plush but without a single element of excess. Finishes mineral and with a nip of tannin.

Medium red. Nose has red cherry and red berry fruit plus a kiss of oak. On the palate this wine shows the red fruit, made more interesting with cedar, oak and then cherry confection. It has a strong backbone of tannin and a good wash of acid. Overall it's ripe and structured in a 2005 way, but showing more oak influence than I prefer.

Dinner at Woodfire Grill (Buckhead, GA) : Darker deeper denser purplish red; nose is larger scaled with powerful mix of red and dark fruit; palate lacks harmony though I think more bottle age may help it; completely out classed by the Montille next to it.

Light dull ruby; full ripe cherry, fresh, ok but doesn't bring much.

Pretty fascinating bottle that showed better than the last time. Initially was completely unyielding on the palate -- little fruit to speak of and a harsh and bitter finish. Double-decanted then let sit open for two hours and revisited -- and it was a whole different bottle from then on. Finish remained a bit clipped and hard, but palate otherwise smoothed out considerably -- very silky. Fruit emerged, but this was never a fruit-driven wine by any means; it was …

Very tight at first, then opened up to express a great earthy nose and distinct tart red fruit (which was quite good). Didn't finish the bottle and revisited two days later, after vacu-vinning and refrigerating -- was ghastly. Score and notes thus based on the 1st night's experience........
