Pale yellow color. Floral aromas of pears and apples. On the palate, charming notes of peaches and lemon, with a superb mineralilty. An exceptionally high level of bright acidity makes this seem like a completely dry wine, in spite of 7 grams/liter of residual sugar. The beautiful finish is long, with hints of saltiness. Wow! Such a delightful wine. I suspect it will still be drinking well for another decade.

Medium light hay color, beautiful, classic Chenin nose, fragrant fruit, waxy, savory; lovely medium intensity, flavorful, again classic chenin, good acidity, turning slightly mineral on the long finish, with the savory components kicking in. Fabulous wine. So many newer Loire producers are going for leaner style, more “natural”, whatever. Give me this classic straight arrow every time.

Light hay color, lovely wooly, waxy Chenin nose, then beautifully medium rich fruit, touch of saline, bit of mouthwatering acidity, a delicious bottle, still very youthful. Looking at notes for this vintage, can’t believe this is the first I’ve written. I’ve had many of these, and while one or two were somewhat premoxed, most have been just delicious.

Somptueux. 🤩

Bill's bottle. Fresh, pale-youthful, no sign of age, crisp and lively. The kind of bottle that makes you wonder why you don't drink more chenin.

Drank chilled from the wine fridge; it developed more flavor and complexity as it warmed. Feeling of flower petals in the taste. No rough edges. Great with grilled chicken and would be a nice companion with lobster. Acquired fall 2021 from Wine Access.

Spontaneous ferment in old barrels, no malolactic; Floral, peachy fruit, honey with high acid and minerality/salinity on the back end. Great length. Some residual sugar. Some thought it should be demi-sec. There was 7+ g/l residual sugar, so if this were a German Riesling, it would still be “Trocken” which has to be lower than 9 g/l. The most expressive of the whites today. Big fruit with some sweetness but balanced by big acid and big saltiness. Both Naudin wines …

Popped and poured but really could have used a couple hours in the decanter. Took awhile for this wine to strut its stuff, but when it did, look out! If a white could be muscular this bottle is the definition. Classic wool, quince, and apple and brimming with acidity. Sec through and through and not going anywhere. If you open, decant. 93pts

I agree with recent tasters of this drink. If you have ‘em, hold ‘em. Or drink them! Good vintages of this wine will age 25 years + no problem.

Very good. Stone fruits, delicate acidity and minerality. Light crips sweetness. It will get better.

Superb. On the nose: mango skins, gun flint, sesame oil but blows off Palette: lovely chalky minerality, and an exceptional open of light salinity, mango skins, and white flowers, leading into an elegantly rendered sweetness with a long crisp finish. Exceptional rendering and notable balance, tending toward flowers and away from tropical notes as it opens up.

Taut and tense, minerally and chalky this had flavours of green apple and quince pear. Fresh and dry, there was a little honey peeking through kept in check by the delightful spine of acidity. It had intensity and vibrancy with fine balance and an excellent length of finish. A class act. CHP 92 pts

First half of the bottle consumed over several months via Coravin. Second half consumed over ~2 hours. This was a gorgeous bottle, managing a fascinating balancing act of being simultaneously rich but light. Need to ration my remaining four bottles, as this has years of life ahead.

One could have smelled this wine all night. A really nice showing, aromatically expressive, well balanced with no oxidative notes, and a long finish. This is a really, really nice bottle of wine.

My favorite wine amongst a flight of 16/17 Huets. This wine was really youthful and pretty. Essentially no evolution or oxidation. It had a certain lightness, especially in color, but also in fruit content with lime peel, white peach, and honey. Coming off as somewhat and almost Riesling like with its searing acidity. This is a great wine to seek out.

I don't drink many white wines but I really enjoyed this. Crisp acidity, good mouthfeel and finish. The white wine drinkers in our group loved this. I would buy again.

Medium bodied, traditional styling, good quality natural cork 20% saturated top-down by black powdery exterior growth (not from my cellar). Phenomenal at PnP onward. Second bottle, first was a baby - this has matured into simply one of the finest Chenin Blancs in this rich, high-acidity style I have come across in years. Electrifying spark across your tongue: yuzu, crisp tree fruit such as green apple, cold iron or steel (like licking a barrel hoop), hints of Graham cracker (~cinnamon …

Gorgeous dry Chenin. Aromas of lemon, lime, apple, quince, nut oils, honeysuckle, a little wet wool. Electric and gripping on the palate, loads of fresh tart fruit, intense minerality, fruit skin and herbal tones lend nice bitterness, blazing acidity. This flirts with austerity at some moments, but it has structure and complexity, and really comes through on the finish, seemingly gaining weight and really spreading out, so many subtle flavors trying to compete with searing citrus and chalky grip. This …

This is just outstanding. Perfumed, soft, and subtle on the palate. As it warmed in the glass it became ever so flavorful. Paired with grilled fresh snapper, it was even better. Drinking really well.

Crazy good. High acid with wooly notes over rich orchard fruit. Warming brings exciting notes of chamomile and dried flowers, lemon zest and waxy notes. Has another 5 years to hit its prime

I bought this bottle back in 2011 and managed to hang onto for almost a decade. But after seeing the two recent notes that indicated their bottles were oxidized, I figured I'd get mine open and see. Worst case, it's down the drain but best case, it could anchor my white wine selection for the afternoon, when I will pour it blind. Bottle has been open 1/2 hour. Color has some gold but nothing I would be concerned about if …

What jumped out to me about this wine was its dryness and its minerality. I found peach, quince, the slightest hint of a honeyed nutiness, and some lime on a long, mouth-tingling finish. Paired very well with gazpacho, but did not work well with figs and cheese.

Lovely gold color. This smelled initially like sweet scallops and I wish the restaurant had had a scallop dish to pair it with. With some air it opens it up to be very cheniny, quince, honey, wool, maybe some lychee flavors. It's quite dry (not sure on the RS but it couldn't have been much) with plenty of river pebble minerality, and it gained in intensity and depth in the short time we had the bottle open (it didn't last …

Stunningly varietally correct--this is what I imagine a Chenin should be. Shows all the aromas Chenin has for me: violet purple grapiness, chalky minerality...also after an hour open it gets oxidative and almost Champagne-like leesy brioche. Still nice, of course. Fairly delicious.

drinking suprisingly well right now, and even better than the demi-sec. Crisp, well-defined, balanced acidity, and a myriad of the best Vouvray flavors. I found quince, earth, and a bit of citrus.
