PnP. Consistent with other notes, tiny bit of alcohol/menthol on the nose, but dissipates quickly. Plenty of body, and structure suggests it has a lot of life left in it but really approachable right now. Very enjoyable wine.

Opened and decanted 2 bottles 2.5 hours prior to dinner. Dark fruit on the nose, the palate was dark berries, cherry, plums, tobacco and sandalwood leading to a moderately long finish. Served with our main course of roasted ducks and the cheese course that followed.

10 years on. This wine never disappoints. Decanted for 30 min. Deep and dark. Lots of black Cab fruit. Tannins are still pretty grippy but mellow out over a few hours. Still years ahead for this vintage.

I gave this bottle a thorough decanting. The cork was sound and there was a lot of sediment in the bottle. The wine opened up very nicely into a mature Bordeaux-style palate. It was very enjoyable over two days.

I was not able to decant this bottle. the cork was sound, and the wine was in good shape. It took quite a couple hours to open up in the glass. But one it did it was very nice with deep, rich, mature fruit with a bit of spice from the oak. The wine is enjoyable now (it needs a good decanting) and I expect it will last several more years.

My last note from some two years ago was less than flattering but reflected much better day two. So this time I ran it twice through Venturi and that was a good move. One hour decant. Deep inky purple color. Fantastic nose of blackberry, raspberry, earthy herbs, purple flowers and cocoa. Full bodied palate with ripe black cherry, stone fruit, violet, graphite, mocha and herbs. Tannins are firm and grippy with a very pleasant long finish. Drinking very well.

Opened 3 hours before the party but didn't decant because it seems ready to go on sampling. I was amazed by how much weight this put on over the course of the evening. 16 people and no one guessed this was a Bordeaux blend from Washington state, but everyone liked it. My first bottles from andrew will and I would definitely buy again. Consumed 18 bottles of wine in all so my memory is pretty fuzzy on details! LOL

Delicious stuff, lovely, enticing, racy fruit with acidity. Slightly more powerful than the Ciel du Cheval which is perhaps more open and lively, but with less power. Not exactly cheap, but it really delivers at this price-point and never disappoints; feels like a more direct, sumptuous style vs. what one gets from Napa, which can be more perfumed or tannic.

The likely reason there is debate over the price point might be due to attaining sheer and undeniable quality in $$ and not $$$. Buyers get giddy and forget this is a 150usd wine at 90usd marketplace. Get over it and remember the wine industry is billions usd and have every angle covered.
