Domaine d'Ardhuy, Savigny-les-Beaune Premier Cru, Les Peuillets

Savory, dark raspberry and cherry. Lean, elegant, and slightly astringent in its youth. Delicious now with air, time will be kind to this wine.

This was dense and big compared to other wines I've had from d'Ardhuy; initially very dark fruited with some solid underlying structure; way too young, but still actually delicious. The concentration was excellent and the finish long though it tightened up some due to the tannins. With about 2 hours of air it began to show the more classic elegance I've experienced from this producer with the fruit becoming more high toned and red in nature. Really very tasty, great …

Energetic, light-bodied, and young. Savory raspberry fruit with an abundant, racy acidity. Slightly open-knitted, with earth, minerality, dusty tannins, and a long finish. Enjoyable now with several hours of air, worth a hold.
