Drinking this wine tonight made me think of it being the intersection of Southern Rhone and Savoie. Then I see my 4 year old note says that, plus Beaujolais! Okay... Its good wine. Very Good.

2018 La Bête from Les Rutissons. It's a blend of grapes from the Isere and inhabits the same space, sort of, that Mondeuse does, reminding one of mythical blends. In this case, it's southern Rhône, Beaujolais and Savoie. Very Good.

Blend of grapes indigenous to Isere - Servanin, Joubertin, Persan, Pelourian, Gamay and Etrarie d'Hui and a few others. Decanted. Now 1.5h after decant. Delicious from the first pour. Now aromas of alpine flowers and grass, tart cherries and blackberries, and some eucalyptus. Tart cherries, eucalyptus, a bit of menthol, eucalyptus, nice minerals, and some alpine grass. Creamy but juicy mouthfeel. Finishes w minerals, tart fruit and a squeeze of lemon. Different, unique and delicious. 90+
