Kilikanoon, Killerman's Run Cabernet Sauvignon, Clare Valley

2nd of 2 bottles from recent auction. Really enjoyed this bottle on its own before dinner and with potato soup with meatballs. Was really singing after reaching room temp (70F). Not showing a lot of age, but has a really integrated character and mouthfeel (thanks screwcap!).

Ripe, but not too ripe, some oak, but not enough to cover up the fruit character, balancing acidity as well. In a great spot right now. Summer solstice and a year since I opened my first bottle. Something I've never seen before, and that I wasn't aware of earlier: I just poured a dram to sample the wine and found a thick coating on the inside of the bottle. Not dregs; can't be decanted away. If you try to pop and pour, the tanins will make your lips pucker. But let it sit for 20 minutes and you'll have a nice cab with soft tannins, juicy layers, and a medium finish.

Only got one bottle. Very happy with it. Nice nose and strong earthy after tones. I would definately buy more
