This intensely fruit-forward wine is a bit over the top! It lacks a solid backbone and feels too heavy and off balance. There is hardly any acidity or tannins to speak of. The nose is the one thing I enjoyed; tobacco, forest floor, and mushroom. But overall a big disappointment, especially considering the price.

Decanted for an hour plus while group was drinking another wine. Thick, deep purple. Solid fruit. Significant complexity. Very enjoyable.

Decanted 2+ hours. Deep blackish purple. Blackberries, plums and licorice. Was not as interesting as I remembered it from last summer. Still, a solid petite sirah.

At tasting with restaurant staff before season opening. Pop & pour. After many so, so wines, pulled this from rack at dessert time. Staff loved the tart, thick fruit and chocolate. Was amazing with a chocolate volcano dessert.

Had a bottle a year ago, pop and pour. Big jammy like many better PSs. This time decanted 2.5 hours. Much more sophisticated. Wonderfully complex. Don't know which I like better: Tart, thick fruit bomb, or subtle nuanced adult. Either way, I like it.

I found this to be rather plain and simple, although some people I was with were blown away by the chocolate

The "Fore" petite sirah is released only to Vina Robles club members. I was fortunate enough to convince the tasting room to let me purchase two bottles. From the enclosed 1-sheet: "The name FORE relates to our 12 year old Jardine Vineyard, where golf balls are often found from the nearby golf course."
