I think JS is way off here (huge score). This is a good wine, but IMO neither special nor elegant. Rioja in the newer style, richer, fuller, more tannic, less wood, fewer aromatics. IMO a bit heavy, not really silky yet, and not all that complex. So its a very, very high 80s or very very low 90s wine IMNSHO. Would not buy again give the alternatives. 88-89. Nice wine with character and a dry finish. Good entry/mid level Rioja. Nice cellar defender

Concentrated lively darker red fruit and well-integrated oak. Excellent.

With a healthy decant this softens up. At pnp, it’s a bit keyed up and ripping, needs some air.
