Had a very bright aroma with deep red fruit and a hint of chocolate and spice. Decent body and finish, a wine I would like to have again.

Drinks young straight from the bottle. Give it three hours or so and it drinks much better. Very unique nose compared to other years. Drinks more like a cab. Peppery notes when paired with the earthy broccoli rabe. Will be even better in a few years.

The last time I had this wine I had a distinct hint of sweetness and spice that was hard to identify. This current vintage had some of the same but much less present. I wonder if that comes from time in the barrel and I’ll get more of it as the wine ages. It’s a really good zin, alcohol high but acid level helps. Committed to keeping the law for some years as before opening another.
