Vinegar. Undrinkable. Usually Arista Pinots are peaking around this age from my experience. Bought at online auction, so maybe provenance could be an issue here.

Very blueberry pie nose. Lighter and less bright than at the beginning of the drink window, but still very acceptable! Ruby strawberry color. Red fruit on entry, not much mouth feel though. Bigger mid, spice on the finish. Gets better the longer it sits in the glass.

Very strong into the end of the drinking window. Fruity on entry and mid-palate. Brightness is still evident, depth of flavor is still present. Finish is deep blueberry & raspberry.

Rich cherry and raspberry fruit. Almost a maraschino cherry sweetness, but the good homemade kind, not the cloying sweet ones in a bottle. Nice balanced amount of oak on the finish. This is the style that attracted me to CA Pinots 2 decades ago before so many of them went over the top on fruit 7/10/2019. Darker fruit and color. Still balanced finish, but probably on the downhill side of life.

Pinot noir tasting WOTN among 6 pinots around the world. Dark inky purple, long legs, fragrant nose of red berries. Medium plus body, incredibly fruit forward. Excellent balance. Easily discernible as RRV.

Subdued nose right now. More candied cherry and blackberry coming through from the warmer climate that this fruit came from. This is good, but I am missing the earth tones and some acidity.
