I really like this wine! I shared this bottle over the course of about 90 minutes including dinner--pan seared salmon, roasted butternut squash, and some sautéed carrots. Honestly, this 2012 Mt. Beautiful Pinot Noir is outstanding. I had the bottle at perfect temperature--and it offered excellent everything. Tight nose, elements of both old and new world with bright cherry, earth, green herb and a hint of sour gum. Palate is surprisingly complex, with good composition and elements of charcoal, green pepper, herb, mushroom and cherries. Good acid and structure. Nice mouth feel for the price. Very approachable today. Better than I expected.

At the Bull, Highgate: 12.5% abc according to the wine list which got me intrigued. Delicious, ripe, red fruited pinot, but not at all hot or jammy.

Red fruit, with great acidity. Light on the palette but with good flavor.

Light pepper, no lingering flavor, just there. A little flat at the 30 minute mark. OK for hanging around with cheese and crackers, but not with a meal.

What a great value PN! Cherry to ruby red; red fruit and earth nose; light to medium bodied; earth stands out at first, but pretty quickly with air, bright red fruits emerged with a hint of herbs, moderate acidity and light tannins. Better with each glass. A real pleasure for $18.

Medium light body, just starting to brick at the edges. This has calmed down a bit now, it's got a sweet cherry nose, quite juicy in the mouth, a bit of earthiness, medium finish, lacking something in the middle for me but is still a decent bottle

A great value pinot noir; Palate has bright red fruits and layers of spice, but is not overly rich like many California pinots; Finish is surprisingly long and expressive

Bright red. A bit of smoke on the nose, along with cherries, red fruit. Smooth palate, with lots of tart cherries, med/long finish. Nice.

Really disappointing first night, however 2nd night this wine is performing much better with only a return of the screw cap following initial opening. Nose is quite enticing with ripe red fruits, mineral and spice. Great nose but you have to look for it. Round mouthfeel with dark cherry, leather, and some earth. Really nice tannins help carry a medium finish. 85 night 1, 89+ night 2.

Ordered off the wine list at the Brasserie in the Mandarin Oriental San Francisco. Clear ruby. Expressive nose of cherry, vanilla, moss, and spice. Very good length. Food-friendly acidity. Mild tannins. Good QPR New Zealand Pinot. Paired really well with our meal. You would never mistake this for a Cali Pinot or Burgundy. Could be Oregon, however.

If only Burgundy at twice the price was this good! Fresh red fruit and juicy acidity, some earthy notes, none of the jaminess that can afflict new world Pinot.

On the nose there is fresh red berries, spices and chai. The palate is fresh and lithe and elegant. This is a pleasant surprise from an unfamiliar appellation for me. An excellent value for about $20.

DAY 3, i presume. delicate nose. cinnamon, dark cranberry and ripe cherry. oak is not so overt. nose suggest ease with nuance of rhubarb. palate displays a light touch of oak, cherry fruit and generally pretty easy to wrap yr head around this one. next to the 06 peregrine pinot, the color here almost seems to be relatively beaujolaisienne.
