Fromm, Clayvin Vineyard Pinot Noir, Marlborough

Brief note. Currently seems a little closed, not overly expressive. Aromas around strawberries, but rather mute. Structured, but not much stuffing today. Opened up a little on day two. So far, somewhat underwhelmed compared to the "normal" pinot noir that was way more expressive. I will assume this needs time and wait till 2028 or so to pop my last one. 90?

New Zealand Pinot Noir (K&L Wines, San Francisco) : Ruby, medium depth. Oaky nose with black cherry. Medium weight. Tart, earthy fruit, very good acidity, drying tannins, finishing wood resin. Serious, young, and very good.

more New Zealand Pinot Noirs : deep ruby colour and medium body. dark cherry in the nose with lovely mushroom, rock, star anise, and floral accents. concentrated fruit flavours coat the mouth against a firm tannic backbone; complexities already in display in the mid-palate, buoyed by a lively acidity. moderately long finish. more elegance and complexity that i generally associate with Marlborough. young and drinkable but so much more to go some distance. i'd put this away for a couple/handful …

Pale ruby in color. Notes of raspberry and allspice; nice mix of fruit and earth. A bit tart.

Lovely young Pinot. Lots of layers with just a nice amount of fruit. Brilliant color will mature over next 5 years, if you can keep it around that long at this price!
