Classic Mosel Riesling. Beautiful in the glass and a nice long lingering finish. Even at 6 years old this is still a wonderful wine. No more of this but I’ll be really curious how many more years this will go.

This is very spectacular already - at the risk of sounding obtuse, this almost drinks like a Keller GG with 10 years of age. Perhaps it has to do with the aging method which supposedly preserves freshness, but this was surprisingly approachable on the pop and pour, and continued to improve with air. For most GG's, drinking a wine at this age would probably be considered taboo given they would most likely be in their "dumb" phase right now, but …

Der Ring 1899 Mosel (& Friends) (Trier) : Slight sulphur, stone fruits; peach, slight apricot, apple, savoury underpin, very slight almost herbaceous quality. Juicy tends to medium plus intensity acidity, stone fruit touch of red apple and apple skin bitterness. Long. Yum.

Pale lemon colour. Medium and youthful nose with green apples, peach, lemon, slate and wet stone. Medium taste of green apples, peach, lemon, slate and wet stone. Medium long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium body. A very good Kabinett Trocken. Drink now or over the next five years. Goes well with fish, shellfish or sushi.
