Fattoria Rodáno Chianti Classico Riserva Vigna Viacosta

Great nose, very complex. Forest floor, barnyard and nutmeg dominate over sweet black cherry and raspberry juice nose. Palate is just the same. Lively cherry juice that is sharp as a razor and great acidity and balance. Great earth flavor, very reminiscent of a good aged Chiant Reserva. Lingering loam and nutmeg on the finish that endures on and on.

Not nearly as good as the 2001, but still a solid CCR if you can get a good deal on it. More acidic/tannic with less earthy depth than 2001.
