Very smooth and well integrated wine, perhaps beyond its peak for up front fruit. Almost reminded me of one of the single vineyards from alameda county that they no longer produce - kind of loamy notes to it. Drink now.

Off color garnet in the glass, medium body. Nose is initially sharp with substantial garrigue, longer into the pour it reveals a scent of sour raspberry, cherry, and plumb. On the palate it is red fruit with black raspberry and plumb, notes of cocoa. Very refined. Excellent pairing with a Tony’s pizza!

Big wine, alcoholic but balanced - barbecue meats!

Plum. Salt. White pepper. Creamy. Just a slight hint of tartness and sourness. More elegant and subtle than Juvenile; very different styles. If the bottle were a vocalist, it would be a baritone. I have been saying it for years: the best red wine deal and the highest QPR (except maybe Juvenile). But tonight clearly shows the $5 premium and high return.

Fruity, ripe, and sweet. The last sips surprisingly reminded me of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Another bottle for guests, and a half glass for me to end the night. Always a crowd pleaser.

A fine wine. Nice dark fruit. A little spice but nicely integrated tannins. This is mature and ready to be drank. Still took an hour to really open up.

Great QPR. Maybe the best value in CA Zin. Prime drinking window. Nose of red fruit. Cherries on the medium weight palate. Long juicy finish with fully resolved tannins.

What a QPR! Wanted a glass of zin and this is just hitting it on all cylinders! Hard to leave it alone. Best value out there if you give it time.

Just an unbelievable value. Turley Old Vines might have the biggest QPR in wineworld. I prefer to drink this after 5 years (6+ for vineyard designates). It is fine after 3 years, but at 5 years, these are typically singing!

Nose is pretty restrained initially. Sweet leather notes, hints at pencil box. The fruit -- cherry? -- also held fairly tight on the palate, with some brambly and grassy character, and slightly dusty finish.

Always one of the best deals in wine. Nice drinking over three nights; great flavors and doesn't coat your mouth.

Delish. Had it with curry chicken, white rice, and veggies and it was on point. Tastes better the longer it sits out!

Though always a touch too much alcohol, this wine does have brambly raspberry and cherry flavors. Maturing nicely.

Getting better. Still drinking a little young after a couple of hours decanted. Not regretting opening it, but I will wait another year before popping the other two I have.

Dependable. Always puts a smile on Carole's face. Rasp and Cherry a bit stronger now that we are drinking these earlier.

Now opaque ruby in color, Turley's 2019 Old vines Zinfandel continues to offer a core of dark bramble fruit that is accented with blueberries, apricots and dried herbs. Medium-to-full-bodied, lightly oaked and with silky-textured tannins, its lofty 15.2% alcohol stays well-integrated and the mid-palate remains dense. Long and lifted on the finish, this is a terrific Zinfandel that demonstrates the art of blending from different vineyard sources. This particular bottle was decanted through a Vinturi aerator and serially sampled over …
