McPrice Myers Bull by the Horns

Tannins are now tame. Nice subtle mocha finish with spice/pepper. Loved it with lamb burgers.

Aptly named- dark, big, brawny wine ( Syrah, Petite Verdot, Tempranillo). Tannins slightly tamed over 5 yrs in cellar but still aerated. Can cellar a lot longer. Cedar, mocha smooth finish.

I'm a huge fan of this wine...rated it 91 eighteen months ago...upping to 93.... Huge color in the glass...deep purple swirling layers as you let them drop...nose of dark fruit....smoke and oak...the palate has blackberry....a dirt component and a minor oak with a rich thick mouthfeel.....this is great stuff for the money

Deep red, maybe just starting to lose its youthful color. Moderately aromatic, with smoke and blue fruit. Big and well-structured.

Decanted 90 mins. ahead. Very dark, almost inky black-cherry color. Very nice nose of plums, blackberries, cassis, smoke, black pepper, dust. Excellent depth of flavors on the palate, with blackberry and mushroom notes. Firm acid balance holds a fruit-leading profile of blueberry preserves. Rustic finish of grippy fruit acids, orange peel, and bramble ahead of light but gravelly tannins. I like the style of this wine; it's rough-and-ready, with a good dollop of seriousness. If you want elegance, look elsewhere. …

Stemmy and heavy oak.

powerfully dense...big dark fruit...on nose and palate...some earthiness and oak also....drinking very well now...it has 6 or 7 good years.....I'm a big fan

Excellent nose of stone fruit. Flavors match the nose in this well balanced wine.

Nice bottle of wine that paired wonderfully with NY Strip.

Lots of oak! The vanilla and smoke hit you first. It's powerfully fruity, without being too sweet. Big, soft tannins. Extremely dark. Very good, but not excellent.
