Raspberry, strong floral notes (lilac, some rose), barnyard that dissipated with a bit of air, good length that tends towards baking spices, candied fruit

7:20 PM 29°C outside 20° inside What to drink? Easy answer - 12.5% ABV Beaujolais! This time from Fleurie Cru. It's supposed to be delicate, fragrant and... let's see. Yes, smell is delicate! Raspberry, flowers, earth, red cherry, but also some smoke. Taste? Big mix! Raspberry, fragrance, strawberry, but also a lot of spice and minerals. Very juicy wine with grippy tannins and visible acidity. Long finish with candy bar and cinnamon. What a mix. If you like complicated Beaujolais, …

Poured at 60 degrees F. Black raspberry and black cherry + wet rocks on the nose . Well-balanced on the palate paired with grilled salmon , rice and salad on the deck overlooking the lake. Great showing and great value .

A distractingly barnyard dominated wine. Nope

Nose is a mixture of green olive, barnyard and raspberry. Tannins and acid are light. While very young, this wine is ready to enjoy right now.

This bottle had a bit too much barnyard for my taste, although in the past I have loved these wines.

Enjoyable, but not saying much yet. Good red fruit, and a nice dusty herbal component.

Popped and poured at cellar temp. Lovely nose of black pepper, raspberry fruit and sun baked earth. Nice red and black fruit on the attack with a nice tingly peppery note. Good balancing acidity. A wonderful versatile wine that would go with a huge range of foods. Very nice.

Super frais et gorgé de fruit. Des petites cerises et du poivre avec de la canneberge. Bel équilbre et longueur moyenne. Beau vin de soif.

This is drinking so so nicely. Soft and light as can be. But just brings this tasty raspberry/strawberry fruit and balance and a gentle acidity. Perfect beauj. Best a bit chilly. Loved this for what it is. (And thought it would be shite by now.) Note: had two bottles tonight, very consistent.

A really enjoyable wine. Immensely drinkable but it is a wine worth pondering a while as well. Delicate fruit with an almost ethereal mouthfeel - full and flirty all at once. My first bottle. I look forward to the rest of th case with some relish.

Despite my previous proselytising this should age, polished off our final bottle, tonight. Delicious.

I agree with other tasters. This is light in colour and touch. Floral and strawberry notes, pleasant freshness and a satisfying finish. Served at 16C it was ideal with a summer supper

See recent TN. Shared with two casual wine drinkers who loved it - thus meriting an extra point!

Pale ruby. Light legs. Medium intensity youthful nose, floral, red fruit, strawberry. Very soft and round on palate, red fruit again, delicate, noticeable acidity through to a medium + finish. Medium - alcohol. Very pleasant, very well balanced, super easy to drink.

An absolute beauty of a wine. Gorgeous, fragrant nose of flowers and red berries. Fresh, delicate palate of pure, red fruit and a notable mineral mark from the soil. Just outright terrific, one of those wines that make you smile. A wine that's up there at the same level as Lapierre and Foillard. A grower to follow.

Illuminating Beaujolais Tasting-2007 to 2009 (Terroir, San Francisco) : Pale. Pretty nose of faded roses. Earthy and tart, good acidity, some carbonic maceration notes. Short finish. This is ok but not in the same league as most of the other wines.

Twenty Bottles of ('08 and '09) Beaujolais on the Wall (Arlequin Wines, San Francisco) : Lots of stone and soil but enough ripeness of fruit to balance. Pretty nice and one of the better '08s.
