Sample from a friend. Some reduction on the nose which provided lift, with more floral, high-toned notes emerging with air. Palate was elegant and transparent, showing silky red fruit rather than the darker, denser fruit often seen in the vintage. Had a very refined texture and poise for both the village and classification. Much better than the '18 Bourgogne last month.

Hipster Burgundy reds : Some argument whether this was corked but I didn't think so even though I found this to be a little sour and acidic. After comparing with the "bio" bottle later with much more expressive fruit my personal conclusion was that this probably had a faulty cork as it had some oxidised notes like older Nebbiolos. Bummer.

Drank next to 2022 Koji Gevrey Corvees. Comparatively, this was less ethereal and had denser dark cherry fruit (but not overripe!), some spice, and more structure with fine tannins. Amazing stuff.

Less expressive than prior bottles. Still quite pure and raw. (1209 bottles)

Incredible nose which grabs your attention immediately, purple fruits with savoury undertones and floral accents. Open for business which is surprising for a 2020. On the palate, extremely balanced with precise dark cherry fruits framed by satin velvety tannins and judicious use of oak. Most remarkable is the lack of over ripeness so characteristic of this vintage. I’m really not a fan of the 2020 reds but this was special. These Koji wines are the real deal.

1209 bottles produced, from vines more than 35 years in age. Shockingly layered and dimensional, spicy purple and dark fruit, some potpourri, lightly whole cluster/stemmy, blueberry, vanilla, violet, orange and cherry acidity, smoky, gamey, berry liqueur and chocolate. Great volume, sharp and fresh. More akin to Leroy on nose and DRC on palate than any of the hype producers out there. 93-94
