Booker, Oublie 22, Paso Robles

Ready to go after an hour's decant. This has come together beautifully, with the oak no longer taking center stage. Nose and palette are both big, with loads of dark fruit. Soft and silky, a joy to drink. Seems to be at peak but no rush, I plan to enjoy my remaining bottles by 2030.

An amazing wine, so quixotic and exotic, with a bouquet that flaunts mountains of black and blue fruit, purple flowers, graphite, and a wonderful canopy of herbs. Tasted at an event today and this was terrific. The oak has begun to fade to the background. Big dark fruit profile that truly was offered a wonderful mid palate and finish. Drank alongside the 2015 regular Oublie and this was far superior in my mind. I am a club member and usually focus on the Ripper and Fracture for my choices in the club so it was nice to get to taste a vintage with a little age on …

Dark fruit, a heavy dose of oak spice and underbrush. The oak is riding in the front of the bus. This wine just needs a little more time in the bottle for everything to come together. Good potential.

55% Grenache 40% Mourvedre 5% Syrah blend of Rhone varietals. Fruity, dense, dark, light, lively, and brooding, all at once.

This is a delicious GSM Blend from Paso Robles. Soft and smooth with nice complexity. Showing a great nose, very flowery and complex. Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs. Dry on the palate with blueberries, currants, light oak, spices, vanilla, light barnyard, peppercorn, tobacco leaf, chocolates, coffee, cola, earth and black tea. Pop and pour. Bold and pleasing Rhone blend with red and black fruit, strong tannins, strong woody backbone. Improved with air, recommend an hour decant.

2016 Booker Oublie 22. A truly delicious GSM. Great balance of fruit, berries and tannins.

Raspberry, black cherry, blackberry, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, five spice, silky texture and perfect balance.

Drank over two days. Day one youthful with spicy blackberries but light on the body. Day two even better with a much thicker body. One of the better Bookers.

Booker Tasting at Taylor's Wine Shop : Really nice, similar to the Ripper this is just fleshy fleshy fruit central. A little more simple red fruit in my book.

Perfectly nice, simple, red fruit forward.
