Mushroom Tasting Menu at Republique (Republique, Los Angeles) : Color is inky ruby, very dark and dense. Sour cherries, game, sous bois and dark fruits on the nose. Deep and integrated palate, with soft tannins and very long finish. Excellent as well.

This is soo lovely - plush, driven raspberry and red cherry nose with coriander, cumin, and a touch of game. Lots of impact yet so light. Lovable.

This if anything has improved. Same great flavor profile, lots of cherry, some hints of eucalyptus, tar/pitch pine, and black birch... Still underlying acidity to give it cut and just a little bit of meanness. Clarity for days, the flavors are precise and real, but knit together beautifully. Absolutely lovely.

Truly beautiful Burgundian expression of pinot noir. Underlying sweetness and tarry flavors, heavy, heavy sweet/tart cherries with just a hint of menthol. Love.

Brittannia Group (Hix Mayfair) : Beautiful refined firm and long so classy and elegant. The mineral structure keeps the wine tracking through the palate combined with the crunchy fruit of the vintage. glorious

The most clear colour in this tasting (tasted the Gevrey-Chamberin VV, 1er Cru Combe aux Moines from Magnum and normal bottle, 1er Cru Clos St. Jacques and Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru) Very, very dense on the nose. Dark fruited and meat then minerals (iron, some iodine) and some herbs. On the palate very elegant with a nice minerality and the most power of all tasted wines in the end but still this wasn´t my favorite of the evening. I think there …

Griotte-Chambertin Dinner (Graham Elliot - Chicago IL) : Tasted single blind. Open approx 4 hours, not decanted. Red cherry, anise, fresh herb aromas. Identical on palate with lots of energy, particularly giving a big lift on long finish. Better and better with more time in glass. Excellent now, but probably just entering its peak drinking window. A great night for Fourrier Griotte-Chambertin.

Rupert's Fourrier Offline (The Medlar, London) : Denser on the nose. A touch lactic. More structured onthe atatck, nicely mineral. A depth and seriousness here even if it's holding its breath at the moment. ***(*1/2)

Fourrier triple horizontal (Medlar, Chelsea, London) : Clearly from the same family as the Goulots and the CSJ, but grander, more reserved, more elegant

On the verge of secondary aromas that come on strong then shuts down after a few minutes. 30 minutes of air brings out bright cherry with meaty notes and a hint of green herbs. The palate is light in weight but pure and balanced with minerality throughout. Yet another transparent 01 showcasing the terroir.

Very approachable nose. Cherry and lift. Clear and sharp. A bit thin compared to some of the others. Mushrooms etc subtly on nose. A slightly acidic mid palate.

Bright, red fruited, hint of acetone on the nose. Put on weight and become quite meaty and darker fruited with time but then became lacy and delicate later still. Really lovely.

Wow, beautiful, plummy and just on but not over the top. Very precise and elegant, but lots of power. I suspect will last another decade or more but won't improve.

Very elegant, refined and silky wine. Great underlying tension and power. Has the florals of the Lavaux wines, red fruits but also has an underlying hidden taut muscular grip and very fine tannins. Very impressive
