See previous review for full context. Orange golden sunset colour. Strong oxidative touch on the nose. Peaches, citrus, clementine, dominates the nose. Taking on more garden flowers and fine herbs with time. Great texture, full palate with great tannins. Strong and long finish that dries the mouth. This wine, and really the whole amphoraes series should be first and foremost seen as an experience. In essence, the Saoumas have looked to isolate 4 different parcels in Chateauneuf, with the Pierredon one being the only white wine of the bunch. The colour is a work of art, as the 12 months unwaxed amphorae elevage rendered a wine that was basically half way between pure orange and a golden sunset.
