There’s something quietly satisfying about finding this still standing. Time has pulled the wine away from its youthful edges and into a more contemplative register: dried pear skin, chamomile, almond paste, and a faint whisper of honeycomb and warm hay. The palate feels settled and assured—less about brightness now, more about texture—showing gentle oxidative notes, savory lees, and a saline, mineral drag that carries it long and calm. Not fresh in the modern sense, but beautifully resolved, the kind of …

Fully mature—perhaps even leaning past its prime—the wine opens with a warm, oxidative glow: baked pear, chamomile, almond brittle, and a touch of lanolin. The once-plush mid-palate has softened into a broader, looser texture, trading definition for generosity. Acidity still whispers through, but it’s no longer the firm spine of earlier years; instead it behaves like a memory of freshness, enough to keep the wine from collapsing but not enough to sharpen its contours. Superior in quality and value if …

Bold and rich and expressive right now, with enormous texture and dexterity across the palate. Clearly, I loved it, but most tasters preferred it in its youth exuberance. So, drink up.

Aged notes of golden pear, ripe apricot and warmed honey. Palate was supply, luscious and full bodied. A completely different experience than a younger rendition. I would say to drink this now, or earlier to retain some of its youthful energy. Eight year window for their Friulano. Superior in quality, superior in value if at $50.

So rich and powerful, and delightful now. But also time to drink up!

Gosh darn do I love this stuff and it was in superb form right now. Complexity, richness, definition across the palate. In category, outstanding but not sui generis, for value, I think outstanding at $50.

Has the electric green thing to it. Still alive and lively.

Truly magnificent to me, all the way through to day 4. Why it wasn't drunk on day one I don't understand.

Curiously kept on getting better and better the longer it was open.

Round and soft and yellow fruited now. Certainly in prime position to drink, but I'll see what happens as it goes forward.

Expressive and powerful candied nose. And powerful on the palate. Thick and mature but not over mature.

That is a pretty green nose. And lively on the palate too.

Green and pretty, not apple but something. Delightful.

Some electric green on the nose. Sanguine power to it. Almost heading into just a touch of SB territory.

Wonderful Tocai Friulano, still impressive and complex after all these years. Youthful. Straw yellow color reveal its age, at the nose shows an impressive complexity and pleasantness with some anice and soft vanilla. Light citrus and almond hints melt with white flowers with an aromatic finish.

Wonderful wine. Straw yellow color reveal its age, at the nose shows an impressive complexity and pleasantness with some anice and soft vanilla. In the mouth light citrus and a balanced almond hint which melts with apples and white flowers with an aromatic finish. Vie di Romans confirms is unique DNA which is declined in a number of outstanding white wines made with local cepages

Un'esplosione di fiori bianchi e ananas. Una finezza, una florealità e un'acidità splendide. Probabilmente bevuto troppo presto ma nonostante questo: piacevolezza immensa e rapporto qualità prezzo veramente buono.
