Unfortunately this bottle is on its way out. Not much fruit left, just a bit of dried plum, a touch of tar and a bit of a metallic aftertaste. There's still some decent acidity left but not much else.

Medium ruby color. Neutral, slightly dusty/musty nose, though far from offensive. Simple fruity, strawberry jam flavors with a slight greenish-bitter finish, which I would guess comes from mechanical harvesting. Like most California Merlots it is marked by low acidity, though mercifully the alcohol is not too high. I'm afraid the Livermore Valley is too warm for Merlot, an early ripening grape. Thankfully, the price is very fair for a wine of this type and quality.

Much better on day 2. I thought this was a fine merlot for the price. Very fruity with a smooth finish.

Very intense for merlot, very defined alcoholic taste- not to buy again

Nose of berries and oak. Initial citrus flavors with a hint of oak. A medium finish that is somewhat oily, but smooth.
