Castagnoli, Chianti Classico, Terrazze Riserva

The last bottle I tasted was so special that I saved another ... as in cellar lost and found. More color than an 8 year old Chianti should display, initial whiffs of oxidation, passing. Yet the sweet aged fruit smiles and elevates my risotto. Old man Chianti, one must appreciate age and wrinkles and knowing smiles.

One can't pass through Tuscany without a Chianti Classico. This a big, beautiful wine, quite round in the mouth. Opaque color. Thick and tongue staining. Sweet cherries are the primary fruit. Lush with soft tannins on a long finish. Just the slightest hint of oak. An enjoyable experience with food, family and friends. What you would expect from a quality Italian producer.
