Rene Bouvier Marsannay Clos du Roy Vieilles Vignes

Light brown-garnet. Engaging, fresh aromas of ripe Bing cherries, sweet red plum and some strawberry notes. Sweet juicy fruit on entry with a savoury twist, this delicate yet concentrated wine has several elements entwined. A chalky acid, quite steely almost, keeps with the juiciness whilst the tannins are light with a parkin or gingerbread/brownies note. The finish is a little short, and the wine lacks staying power yet is a very pleasant Marsannay.

Hands down, this is the best Marsannay I’ve had. Meadows initial 89-92p rating made me buy a 6-pack. Sound investment.
