Needs air. The attack is quite brute, quite alcoholic, this is rich wine, certainly, a bit of a bully, but after two hours, the sweet Grenache rings true, the roughness disapears.

NOt a lot different than the '09 we drank along side it, big, fruity, alcoholic. This didn't seem any hotter, things being relative, so I wouldn't say vintage made a big difference. This is fairly modernly styled, although there's no overt oak, just lots of strawberry, some darker fruit from the syrah, and not a lot of strong Mourvedre influence. This was enjoyed by our guests, who are still big fans of S. Rhone wines, but reminds me a little …

Decanted and served 15 minutes later with BBQ ribeye steak on a warm evening al fresco in London. Woooooaaah! Expected to be alcoholic, plummy and sweet but this is way over the top, even with BBQ steak. Far too much alcohol. Wasn't this fashionable 5-10 years ago? Makes many Argentinian Malbec seem 'classic' in comparison. 45 minutes decant didn't help. Everyone agreed this was like Port. The alcohol was ridiculous. I really like this producer and this wine is very well done. Already elegant. Has no edges. Mineral. Black fruits. Cinnamon. On the palate, good acidity, rounded tannins and medium persistence. I opened this wine to see its current stage and your perspectives of aging. I did not realize that customary structure, acidity and tannins related with good aging, but it is a CdP ....Let s see...

Drank by the glass at Cut to wash to our steak with after having too many cocktails to justify getting a bottle. This was decently good and went well with the beef. The nose was very Provençale indeed, with sweet aromas dried cherries and red berries and some floral notes packed in with warm scents of dried earth, hot stones and some wild garrigue. Pretty nice. Good nose. Notes of black cherry, licorice and underbrush. Sweet on entry but rather dry finish. Significant amounts of tannins still noticeable. Medium bodied with relatively higher acidity level than a lot of 2009 CDP. Label indicated 15% but probably more than that with heat at the end. Overall not as balance as Senechaux 2009 or Clos St Jean CDP 2009. Better on the nose than on the palate. 89-91 pts.

Intense nose of kirsch and baked plums. Almost all fruit right now; just a tiny bit of tobacco on the finish. Well balanced; didn't taste too boozy. Lots of minerality. Long, linear finish. Tasted with the winemaker (Baptiste Grangeon) who recommends drinking it within the first decade. I think the fruit will hold, easily, for a decade. Very impressive.

Seductive and focused raspberry aromas with kirsch, liquorice and dark garrigue. Nice and full taste with soft acidity and viscous mouthfeel. Could have better grip though, and the finish still needs to come together. A bit too sweet - alcoholic or residual - to be a perfect food partner with lamb chops and roasted vegetables. The nose held a few more promises than were fulfilled on the palate. Question mark about the structure when it comes to ageing.
