Ausgezeiknet! Lime, honey, and tropical fruits. Time has softened the acidity of this Auslese for a perfect presentation.

Really enjoyed. This my perception echoes a lot of the other notes: peach, petrol, tropical fruit with an amazing acid spine, yet a round and soft mouthfeel at the same time. Several of the most recent bottles I've tried from this producer have been corked, but this one was a winner.

Pop and pour. Absolutely singing. On the nose: soft petrol, dense peach, light roasted floral coffee, a warm darkness to this.. On the palate: lovely acidity, a hint of sweetness, peach coulis, lemon, tarragon...fantastic density. Yum.

Honeyed stone fruit and petrol on the nose. Meyer lemon and juicy pineapple on the palate. Great structure. Lots of acid to offset the sweetness. Very juicy. Long finish that resolved into herbal/vegetal note. — artichoke hearts.

Amazing acidity for a 26+ year Auslese, along with yellow delicious apple, petrol, herbal notes, and some tropical fruit. Nice finish. Notes written long after the wine was drunk, so not as detailed as possible.

Drinking so well. Amazing how Riesling blossoms with bottle age. Acidity kept this fresh and residual sugar was susrprisingly tame. Flowers, honey, petrol. Delicious by itself, even better with food. Worked wonders with Sichuanese pork shoulder. Should drink well for 5 more yrs, maybe more. Wish I had a case!

Pop and pour. Now 45 min after opening. Golden yellow. Ripe pineapple and gala apple aromas w flowers and minerals and a bit of honey. Ripe pineapples, spices which I think are from botrytis, flowers, and nice minerals. Nice acidic cut that pierces through the sweetness. Mildly sweet, prob bet current day kabinett and spatlese levels. Lovely, complex and yet serene. This is nice. 91+

From a 375. Drinking now. Slight hints of petrol, with heady dose of tropical fruit. Palate shows some petrol, a clean minerality, and resolved structure. Acidity has receded, leaving full and steady fruit. Fully mature, ready to drink and not too much left in the tank. Best with my sichaun salt and pepper shrimp as it became a tad one-dimensional after dinner.

Perfect with Thai food. Less sweet than expected, could have guessed Spaslese

Decanted for 1h. Aromas of mild petrol, ripe pineapples, apples, cream, herbs, and minerals. Palate is similar to aromas w mild petrol, ripe pineapples, tart apples, herbs, lovely minerals. Excellent acids w creamy but lively mouthfeel. Nice concentration and depth. Equal to a current ripe kabinett or restrained spatlese in sweetness. Finishes w ripe pineapples, minerals and nice grapefruit pith bitterness. Mature, gentle and mellow. On its plateau if not on it's gentle downslope. Lovely. 91+

Nice golden hue, very pure but not too deep, nose is petrol, tropical fruit, cream, and hint of flint/smoke. Perfect balance of acid and sugar on the palate, lighter and more in line with a spatlese, good acid, very quick finish, gulpable and perfectly aged riesling. For me in that perfect spot for QpR and great pairing with Indian or Thai food.

Fine showing. Somewhat middle of the road. Very pure and clean, pretty and sweet, in no way sappy. Stone fruits, a touch tropical. Somewhat soft but still balanced

Way better than the last bottle. Really good. Medium sweetness, I would not have guessed Auslese

Drinking well, with Auslese richness, but Spatlese sweetness. Loads of peaches, apricots, light petrol and a slight note of minerals. I initially thought there might have been a whiff of cork taint, but it was more of an earthiness (or wine cellar barrel scent) rather than TCA. I'll be curious to see how the next bottles shows. UPDATE: The woody/earthy notes blew off on day 2.

375 ml bottle. From memory. Opened for 30-45 min. Mild petrol aromas with baked apples, ripe pineapples, herbs and minerals. Palate was similar with baked apples and pineapples, herbs, and a nice mineral edge. Excellent acids as always. More concentrated than the last bottle with just a bit more sweetness, more on a spatlese level now. Beautiful and drank wonderfully with spicy Thai food.

From 375 ml. PnP. Aromas of mild petrol, flowers, ripe pineapples, tart apples, minerals and herbs. Palate was similar with just ripe pineapples, herbs, minerals and tart apples. Not all that sweet at all at this point - somewhere between a current kabinett and spatlese. But nice weight with excellent acids. Nicely complex but lacks some concentration esp. in the midpalate. Otherwise, really nice.

375 ml bottle. PnP. From memory. Lovely aromas of pineapples, petrol, herbs, and minerals. But then the palate was sort of flat. Very little fruit, some petrol, and minerals. Complete disconnect from the aromas and didn't improve over the next 30 minutes in the glass. Had about a glass worth left and recorked the bottle. The next day, palate improved quite a bit with nice pineapples, minerals, and petrol. The sweetness is somewhere between today's kabinett and spatlese. Really different …

My 40th Birthday Weekend; 2/17/2017-2/20/2017 : Pre-Pradikat drift, so a modern Spatlese in heft. Not much botrytis evidence. Mostly that clean citrus, honey, wet slate thing with a bit of diesel to keep it real. Great stuff.

PnP. Deep gold color. A- Apples, pineapples, herbs, minerals, a hint of petrol. P - Palate follows but has that beautiful tension between fruit, acids, and minerals that really come on the mid-palate. Fruity but not sweet. Elegant but still with weight. F-Lingers with layers of apples, pineapples, a hint of honey, minerals. So nicely done.

Lovey wine. No noticeable botrytic character, and a clean palate of apple and peach and pear with lovely acidity. Would remind one more of a Spatlese in a good vintage. Light petrol notes but still primary and mildly sweet. Can hold.
