Nose of plum skin, cocoa, French oak, damp earth and a bit of alcohol. Flavors of raisin, wet stone, dark berries and moderate oak. Medium finish is smooth but lacks the development of any significant secondary flavors.

Dark in color. Nose of Turkish coffee. Gorgeous, plush mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Falls short in the all-important flavor dept.

Black/purple. Purple towards edges. Ripe fruit of black berries, plum jam, licorice. A sweet first inpression, though it tightens up with tannins, then some fruit appear. Very ripe tannins. Finish is good, with fruit, some alcohol sweetness and some tannins finishing up. Probably has potential for more, it has both intensity and concentration. The only thing might be acidity that hinders it from being a really good wine.

Pnp. Very pure and bright nose of strawberry and red cherry. Secondary notes of cedar, spice, and a background earthy /herbaceousness that is hard to finger, licorice comes on as it airs. On the palate tasty red fruit of red plum and strawberry, with the whole spice rack. Tight on the finish of spice and red fruit. Notably any garrigue/funk is missing. Outstanding with a braised fennel/coriander lamb shank, really brings the spice of the wine out. After an hour …

Powerful nose and fruit forward for a chateauneuf. A bit of leather and spice. Enjoyed at a busy resort table thus difficult to discern the subtleties. Smooth and extremely enjoyable, not a lot of terrior.

Earthy, mushroomy and truffle filled nose. Hints of black olive. Dark style with espresso, grilled beef and tobacco notes. Big core of black fruits. Tarry finish. Some charred character as well. Feels thin on the mid-palate but there's plenty of flavor. Big and dark. - Tasted at Marché Bacchus 6/12/10
