Opened well, a well vinted zin blend. As time went its acidity became more prominent and less balanced. Nice wine short of excellent.

Brick-garnet, deep and opaque but just begins to pale at the rim. Intense nose of sweet plums, cassis, smoke, leather, vanilla, oak, caramelized sugars, olives. A bit of alcoholic heat on the nose as well - this is 15.5%. On the palate, tannins are chalky and lengthy. I love the deep, dark nose but wish the fruit lingered more to balance the tannic grip.

Worrisome nose, prune/raison. This blew off with time in the glass. Darker fruit than the last time, long finish. Wonderful experience. I'd say this is at a perfect time.

I must not drink as well as most of you, because I thought this was beautiful. I could have just nosed the glass all night...so rich and deep and dark and smoky. Excellent.

Light and bright nose. Smooth mouth feel, but not tons of fruit. Good.
