1014 days lapse. Thrilling. Deeply scented summer storm of violets, licorice, and iodine. The drink is dark and fat with savory marine saline, leading to dried mint. There is a lyrical top rinse of blackcurrant and framboise. Tannins are fit. Acidity pulses through the fabric. A great pleasure to drink. ________ 24 hours resealed 60°F. Still very good. Sediment tastes good too.

This was another very nice bottle of this wine. Yes, it does have a fair amount of sediment in the bottle, a good sign of a natural wine. I have found this vintage to be open and enjoyable since release. It has nice berry fruit, good acidity, earthy, and is well rounded on the palate. Quite enjoyable now and for some years to come.

Huge slurry of sediment in this bottle, a double decant was a necessity. Typical herbal Cab Franc notes of tobacco leaf and pepper, and (perhaps atypically) zero Brett. Very closed off though, and even a well marbled NY strip didn’t tease much out of this. Good structure, components, etc, but give this more time. Six years is way too young.

Notes for day 2: Left more than half full bottle in fridge, with cork, over night. Total transformation! Full bodied, but super fruit and fresh. Nice length. Not super complex, but quaffable. Dark red fruit. French herbs. Youghurt. Dried meat/sweet dryness. Very, very nice cab franc. Day 1: too bretty/reductive for me. Had hard time focusing on anything else.

The score is for QPR. Red cherries mixed with dark fresh fruits, Chinese medicine, fine tanins, perfect balance. Depth and freshness brought by lingering acidity. By this by the caisse and start drinking 2-3/year 5 years after millesime. Cheers

This continues to drink well and is consistent from bottle to bottle. Lots of dark red fruit, some bell pepper, flint and graphite as Sleepyhaus mentioned. However, I don’t see it improving from where it is today. It is quite earthy in a good way.

Nose of black fruit and plums, graphite/tobacco, with meaty and floral notes. There is some sweetness on the palate, with bright acidity and enough tannins to suggest future improvement.

This is a medium bodied wine with moderate tannins. It has nice red fruits, including blueberries, blackberries and currants, some herbaceous notes and peppery earthiness. It has a nice round and full mouthfeel with a medium finish. However, after enjoying a case of this wine since its release, I do sense the softening of the fruit. So while this wine will live for 10+ years, I ask why would you wait?

This note will sound like a broken record, but the wine is a great QPR. It is quite delicious and rich with dark red fruits, including blackberries, blueberries and currents. It also has a nice spiciness to it that I really like. I doubt that I will find out how well this vintage will age as we have already gone through a case with one more case left. It is difficult not to open these.

Very Good++/Excellent- Others' recent TNs capture it well. Drank great after a few hours decant. Nice balance of ripeness with a bare thread of green. 13.5% abv Importer: Envoyer Imports Empty bottle weight: 562g

Raspberries shading dark to open, followed by the classic Chinon red bell pepper, cigar ash, iron, flint, graphite. Good now, but better in 5 years, 10, maybe 20.

Delicious. Powerful flavor or dark red fruit, earth, and just enough tannins to give it grip. Drunk without decanting, the sediment did not detract. And, as to be expected, it opened up with time in the glass. Very richly flavored, and a perfect foil for goulash and rice from the Camargue. Rated +2 on a scale of -1 to +3.

Honestly, I had the same experience with this bottle as all of the previous ones. This wine has a very fragrant nose followed by nice dark red fruits, including blueberries, blackberries and currants. It has such a round and full mouthfeel with a medium to long finish. Really quite delicious.

Like every bottle from Chinon, and most CabFranc’s in general, this had some aromas of a recently abandoned outhouse in the Loire. That nastiness fades in time, and then it smells like a long abandoned outhouse in the Loire. The wine itself tastes great! Chalky tannins and nice acidity temper the tobacco and bell peppers, and what shines through in the end is bright red fruits and a promise of even better things to come in a decade.

Similar to a year ago. Brett city at first, subsiding somewhat but not completely 4 hours in. Taut, crisp red fruits (redcurrant, pomegranate), tobacco, a hint of pyrazines, chalky fine tannins, and loamy soil. Some more sharp horsey brett before a crisp clean finish. Very classic chinon, no trace of heat.

This needs time, presumably, but wanted to check in on it. Double decanted and followed over several nights. Lots of animalistic funk that took quite a while to blow off (this producer always has those funky notes at first in my experience). Some nice green pepper notes, quite a bit of yeastiness, some natural wine funk. I don't get the high scores on this wine, but hopefully with some more time in the cellar it will blossom into the beauty …

Delicious and not showing any sign of shutting down. Full bodied, with bright, palet cleansing acidity - just a little bit of funk (brett) on the nose, with just ripe / pleasantly sour blue (& a hint of red) fruit, violets, woodsmoke, autumnal forest, and that very Chinon twist of graphite / lead pencil and tobacco leaf. This is just a puppy, and will be stunning in 10 -15 years...sadly my last bottle. Wish I'd backed up the truck when …

This wine was sort of a revelation for me. Amazing. This is a point. Maybe a touch short and just at the beginning of it's downswing. Kalamata olive, rosemary, leather and and sweet strawberries on the nose. The leather, and strawberries are there on the palate with a dried raspberry character as well and notes of tobacco, iodine, stony soil and poivron rouge. Medium-bodied silky texture that doesn't miss a spot on the palate. Mathieu says "Great wines age slowly". …
