Still showing well especially for a rosso in a hot year. Although it could really pass for Brunello from most producers as it met the aging requirements. Medium bodied and still retaining good cherry fruit to go along with the tobacco and clean finish. This certainly doesn't compare to the big brother bottlings here, but quite nice with fatty charcuterie or tomato based sauce dishes. A lovely wine, but a drink now/soon.

Ready to drink. The acidity is quite prevalent. Very ripe cherry notes. Would not buy again for the price. Good but not great for a Poggio di Sotto Rosso.

This is very pretty now and fully mature showing wonderful balance and charm. Red fruit, flowers on the nose and a medium bodied palate with red fruit, herbs and touch of spice. Not a blockbuster but a great vintage and point of maturity for this wine.

We were skeptical, but the boss at Gian's said a nice drop and he offered us a friendly price :-). Thanks, Guido. It was very good. We could feel she probably will slip away by next year, but in the meantime singing nicely.

much better than last bottle, but still not great. It does show a nice brunello nose, and some dark fruit and leather notes on the palate, but the acidity is too prominent and makes the wine disjointed. Drink now.

Bottle breathe two to three hours Pale ruby and with some sediment. The wine is full of perfume, red currant, violet, mineral and earthy. Complex, powerful, and elegant. Not difficult to approach now, especially when compare with their wine from 2010. This 2007 RdM can drink now, but have potential to develop further. Absolutely one of my favorite Rosso di Montalcino! Now - 2020

Light ruby color with distinct ripe plummy note. Medium body, but still can feel the high alcohol level that has the structure and just enough tannin to balance the acidity. Lovely wine and probably the best Rosso di Montalcino I have ever tried.

Robust performance 15 minutes after uncorked. Perfumed bouquet with well integrated plums and cherries with mineral and spices. Rich and fruity palate with mineral core and good acidity. Very good for a Rosso BdM, just not the price.

Translucent red. Upon opening there is some funk and i initially think it is a tad off, but with 20 minutes of air in a decanter it is gone. Nose develops and builds over a couple of hours. As always with Palmucci, this is classic brunello character, red fruited, elegant, pure nose of red cherry, raspberry, mint, balsamic, leafs. Palate is rich and succulent, a trademark of the vintage with cherry, plums, and suis bois, but it is never heavy …

An absolutely beautiful rosso, from one of my favorite producers in Montalcino. The 07' is a bright and rather translucent ruby color that starts with a stunningly floral and perfumed nose with sweet cherry and tobacco. Aged lightly in Slovenian oak, there is great integration and balance to the wine. A great vintage, a great rosso.... must.... buy.... more!!!

This is better than what we had last night, K says innocently - and gets "rewarded" with a lecture about Poggio di Sotto specifically and Montalcino in general. Even though this is just a Rosso, it makes my heart race and mind travel. Feather-weight but imacculately pure cherries, an air of sage, serious minerality, some tobacco and even raspberries show up. The acidity and tannins work wonders with simple but eloquent chanterelle pasta. This is prime Montalcino, and more exciting …

Ett väldigt elegant vin. På utseendet skulle man nästan tro att det vara en Nebbiolo. Underbara toner av hallon, körsbär, söta örter, tobak. Väldigt fin balans och ljuvlig eftersmak med bra längd. Som sagt ett väldigt elegant vin från Montalcino.
