Popped and poured, notes from memory. Medium pale yellow. Intense lemon and gooseberry bouquet. Brisk attack - then absolute whollops of lemon and tropical fruits. I still find this overly acidic and a bit simple to my tastes but I enjoyed it more tonight and to my surprise it stood very well on its own without food. Others all liked it very much.

Very acidic. Tart lemon juice coupled with gooseberries. Lots of intensity but overpowering acidity. Needs food.

Wines of South Africa (Fix St. James, 111 Elizabeth Street, Sydney) : Pale lemon green, clear, bright, tears. Medium plus intensity, clear and youthful with aromas of passion fruit, green capsicum, citrus - lemon, slight musk/sweaty notes. In the mouth the wine is dry with medium plus acid, medium alcohol, medium plus body, medium minus flavour intensity with flavours of sulphur, bitter, unripe/green notes and sour fruit with a medium plus length finish. Nah, unripe and bitter.

Pale lemon coloured, the nose shows assertive spice, lemon zest, herbs and gooseberry aromas. Medium to full bodied with piercing acidity, it has a lovely broad texture, flavours of pink grapefruit and melon and a distinct minerality.
