Carodorum Toro Issos

- deep ruby color - aromas of cherry and plum with peppery leather notes - on the palate, bright cherry fruit and nicely integrated oak - med body, + acidity, gripping tannins Overall, a nice wine with some nice fruit and secondary character. Wish the finish was a bit longer and more pleasant. Probably drank too soon.

Big wine. This is a no-holds-barred assault on your palate. TONS of dark fruit and some vanilla oakiness. If you like modern style, explosive, over the top, this is for you! That being said, I think its a 90 because it's flat out tasty, if a little too bombastic for my palate. I bet this calms down a bit in a year or two, puts on a little elegance in place of the brute force, and becomes a 91-93.

Poured into decanter and immediately poured my first glass. Color is deep purple. Opaque. Nose showing pencil lead. Blackberry, black cherry, light floral. Taste: Full body. Forward fruits, blackberry, plum. Good balance and mouth feel, but seems hollow on the mid palate. Some tannins on the finish. Very enjoyable.
