Will probably still improve with a few more years in bottle but showed really well with an hour decant.

For me, this wine was simply very good, and not outstanding. It has classic Sangiovese notes, especially red fruit, but in spite of decanting, remained tight and closed off. The time spent in oak was evident and over-powered some of the prettier notes in the wine. Drier than I expected on the palette. Probably should have let this one rest so that the sharper points could soften. At the price point, I expected more from this wine.

Bit more open than last time, but quite harsh upon tasting. Drying mouth feel. Bit better with food. Elegant, but expected more.

It’s a good wine but a bit over on the price tag. I have too many choices on the same quality by having a Italian wine under 100sgd

Pop and poured. Drank over 1.5 hours at Zach's wedding. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of Sangio sour cherries, ripe sweet red cherries, ripe strawberries, dusty Tuscan earth, emerging new leather. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.5%), fine grippy medium+ tannins, deceptively medium+ to almost full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of classic tart sour cherrries, ripe sweet red cherries, ripe strawberries, red licorice, earth, …

I would guess this is not in its best state right now. Bit tigh, tannic. With food it works but on its own it's not the greatest pleasure. Different one and a half years ago. Should shine again in a few years, I presume.

Great Wines of Italy with James Suckling (Moore Building, Miami, FL) : Lovely Red berries with nice acidity and freshness and medium to full body finish. One of the highlights of the night.

Cinnamon, oak and red fruit on the nose. Medium bodied, smooth tannins showing sweet oak/hardwood with tart red fruit. Needs time for the oak to integrate more. Very nice with deer steak at Gastone.

Intense and lovely nose of macerated cherries, dried cranberry, pie crust and cinnamon (but no new oak), sweet savory spice notes; easy rounded entry, excellent depth and richness but not heavy, but great structure and a tangy finish that goes on and on. Incredible and a truly great super Tuscan. 100% SG 70 y.o. vines.

James Suckling - Great Wines of Italy (SF) : Can't score. Too young. Oxidative style. Red fruited and austere. Tannic and high acid. Slightly herbal. Overall the Bibi Graetz wines were light, super structured to the point of austerity, had little ot no Brett, and were quite oxidative (bruised apple skins).

Beautifully earthy, nice nose and a gorgeous palate. There is some nice cherry and balanced acidity. This is outstanding.
