Serol, Cote Roannaise, Perdriziere

Une petite déception: on sent un peu de cerise, mais plutôt à l'eau de vie, et un peu de cuir, j'espérais un fruit plus frais. Ce n'est pas désagréable, le vin file vite, mais à mon goût il a évolué trop vite, et a ce défaut de certains gamay qui ressemblent à des rhône sud qui ont vieilli prématurément, sans l'alcool heureusement. J'en attendais peut-être trop? En tous cas mes prochaines seront attendues moins longtemps !

Pure Spirits pre-wine fair party (Oinoscent) : sampled from magnum A touch gamey, dark ripe fruit, berry, pomegranate, strawberry, spice notes, opens up nicely in the glass. Palate is juicy, nicely balanced, needs time, tight tannins, med body, med finish

So so. Didn't convince me of the merits of Loire gamay

Deep, bright purple colour. Nose actually rather restrained for gamay. Ripe and fresh. Seemingly longer and more angular than would expect on a comparable Beaujolais.

Fine Vines / Becky Wasserman Producer Visit and Tasting (Perman Wine Selections - Chicago IL) : Tasting, brief note. More interested vs Millerands, even if less fun right now. This has greater weight and length (and potential), just not as fun and fleshy. Certainly better in another year or two.
