Maison Albert Bichot Pommard 1er Cru Les Chaponnières

Agréablement bluffé.

This has great balance already in its youth, with a cool black-fruited palate struck through with fine little tannins. No crunch or clunk here, just regal and almost perfumed. Very good.

Has a smell kind of like the passionfruit skin thing you sometimes get in the Northern Rhone. There are also notes of cherry, berry and licorice. It is full and creamy with a kiss of gentle acidity on the back-end.

Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind : Very reductive aromas, less problematic on the palate. Lots of bright and ripe red cherry and berry with very enticing spice flavors. Very good potential.
