Decent $13 Sonoma Chardonnay. Light straw gold; Chardonnay nose, minerals, malolactic; soft-mid body; some residual sugar (?); long fat finish; a little hot (14.2 alc.).

Apple, peach and lemon and some wood with a strong and lingering lemon-lime finish, which I don't find pleasant. Some malolactic fermentation (certainly from the nose), but not outrageously buttery.

A perfect patio sipper on a warm Chicago early Spring day. Nice round flavor profile with tropical and floral notes. Pretty much what you see is what you get, but amazingly good at this price point. Bright and fresh in nature with an easy and approachable profile.

Let's be honest- there are plenty of wines in the $10-$15 range that are borderline undrinkable. This is a fine example of what can be accomplished at this price point. It is fresh, round with tropical and floral elements. Instantly gratifying without attempting to be more than it is. It will be a lovely porch/patio sipper all summer and will delight more than it disappoints. Not very acidic but also not fat and non-descript. It performs well above the price …

The wine looks light gold colored. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like lemon and vanilla. It tastes like lemon, apple and oak. The body is medium. The wine has bright texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has high acidity.

I actually quite liked this chard. Not overly oaky, it did have some nice tropical fruit, though a bit short on the finish. Medium body. This wine is a steal at the price.

Brilliant golden yellow. Highly perfumed nose; floral, lemon, cream, butter. Palate is on the sweet side, medium bodied, lemon curd, fairly rich. This is a good value. 4-11-15-8: 88/100.

Finding a good Chardonnay at this price point is difficult and this one is good example of that. There are no crisp fruit flavors. I like some buttery Chardonnays but this one misses the mark completely.
