Apparence rouge cramoisi, densité moyenne (surtout considerant le cepage). Nez ouvert, typique, sous-bois, champignon, fraise. En bouche continuité des odeurs, fraises écraisées, sucre d'erable, tanins souples, légère acidité. Beau specimen de PN du nouveaux monde sans excès. Excellent rapport QP.

Interesting Pinot. Great strong fruit Pinot nose, the appearance was not as thin as most. Had a lot of good Pinot qualities that would make this an excellent wine, but too much acidity to the point had a hard time pairing with food. Medium garnet. Initially somewhat funky. Red cherry, strawberry, green herbs and hints of undergrowth, quite evolved. Medium-bodied, soft and balanced with bright acidity and good length. Nice pairing with grilled chicken fillet.

Upon opening the bottle, a somewhat unpalatable whiff of toasted oak and yeast which fortunately dissipated quickly and left a fairly vague nose of red berries. First sips revealed a fairly acid-driven wine with light tannins, somewhat faint fruit. Oak is nicely integrated, bringing a nice mouthfeel and some sweet vanilla to the finish. I think this is a very good pinot for the price. Upfront acidity with strawberry and rhubarb. A bit of terroir on the nose and the tongue. A bit flat at the end but overall great value.

low price @ MLCC. Initally was a little heavy with funky dark fruit that over time opened up and the funk settled. Rich and concentrated style that is dark berry/cherry quality. There is a little earth tone there but more like a newer world style. Nice, would try the '11, but not something i'm gravitating to for more.

A silky, light to medium bodied deep garnet tinted wine. Predominantly cherry and rasperry fruit with some peripheral grassy tones, a fair amount of acid and a moderate to long finish. Tasted great with some ripe St-Nectaire cheese.

Lots of red fruit, wild strawberry, red cherry, red plum on the nose, along with violets and spice, smooth on the palate with some structure, long finish. Pretty delish: changing my mind about NZ pinot.

I think you should just let those 92 points from WS pass without giving them too much notice. I mean, that's what DRC fetches a lesser year from one of the, eeh, lesser plots. With that said, this is really good, with a ton of pinosity. Lovely darkish strawberries, asian spice, nice acidity and even a little forest floor feeling. The black tea-like tannins gives another dimension and it works well with our chanterelle pasta and is good for slurping …

2012 Pinot Days Grand Tasting - San Francisco (Festival Pavilion, Fort Mason, San Francisco, California) : Medium cherry red color; stems, savory, tart cranberry nose; cranberry, tart red fruit palate; medium finish 90+ points

Drank without decanting, straight from the screw-cap bottle. Fairly typical look with a slight pinkish tinge. On the nose lots of fruit, especially cherry, along with some mild black tea. Quite fragrant and also surprisingly concentrated on the palate. Tastes of cherry and blackberry, with a nice amount of acidity. More fruit focused than earthy. Medium tannins. Could age for a few more years. Not especially complex or long on the finish. Nice wine for the money at $23.

There is more raspberry than cherry, and no earth or funk, but great spice (think clove and cinnamon) and a touch of green tea to balance the fruit. The flavors are distinct and have depth. At $24, this is a steal.
