Very tight on pouring, showing a touch of coal smoke and a bare suggestion of red fruits. After taking on air it really gets going. There are rose petals and floral spice. The red fruits gather and intensify at the wine's core. It is lacy and there's a fine line of minerally acidity. It possesses latent power and really fans out on the long finish.

There’s some freshly grated ginger and camphor wafting off the wood at first but after a few minutes in the glass its crunchy red berry central. The palate is tight, minerally, lean and focussed. There’s a grape skin texture to the wine and real crunch and precision to the perfumed, long finish.

Vosne Millésime - Noblesse des Clos Vougeot - Les Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Château du Clos de Vougeot) : Wine tasting. Big ripe black fruit on nose and palate. Fruit dominant today, not my favorite of the lineup.
