Mazzocco Zinfandel Seaton

Smooth, rich, low tannins, jammy

Jammy boozy nose layers of blackberries and anise. Hints of a fruit bomb. Palate....oh yeah! Fruit everywhere. Hide the children!!!! Blackberries, currant, leather and mint. Slightly spicy back end but more red pepper than black pepper. Lingers on the tongue like a warm blanket. Yummy. Beautiful but would like a little more spice to clean up the the palate. Matched with veggie meatballs and a spinach salad but don't judge since it worked well.

This is a zinfandel It has big spice and a nice layering of pepper. The fruit includes lovely dark fruits and blueberry. The finish has a wonderful spicy

Didn't take notes - really enjoyed. Alcohol does not show on the palate or nose which is a feat given 15.5% alcohol. Big but balanced and great Zin profile - briary raspberry / blackberry / plum. 91+

Musty, mushroom smell at opening. Flat, no fruit, high acidity leading into a wet cardboard taste.

Big black cherry, pepper and earth. Good, fruit forward wine with nice acidity. The high alcohol is hidden well. Drank with an hour decant and slightly cool. As it warms the alcohol is more evident. Keep it cool during serving for best results.

Drinking very well - smooth for a Zinfandel with medium body & nice cherry / black cherry / briary flavor profile. 91+/- Tasted with the 2009 vintage and very similar flavor profile - this has the acidity to age medium term and the 2009 was drinking very well. Went great with ribs & burgers.

Smooth dark cherry and blueberry, subtle spice, dry finish. A little hot on the backend and turns slightly bitter.

Strong 91+. Hour or so decant. Great raspberry/bramble and licorice. With air a little vanilla shows. Nice QPR.
