Smells like a combination of freshly diced cherries and bottle caps candy. Smells pretty sweet. Doesn't come off this way on the palate, primarily cherries and red grapes on the palate with a touch of sweettart/bottle cap candy sweetness in the finish. Lightly tannic, balanced moderate acidity and an unevolving but nice, lingering finish. Not bad for a wine I paid $4 for out of a discount bin. The Middle Kingdom: Alsace, Austria, Germany, Hungary, etc. (Wine Exchange - Orange, CA) : Wonderful Beaujolais-like aromas here with crunchy brightness to the notes of raspberry, cherry, and spices. Edgy and light on the palate with flavors of cherry and minerals. This is a nice little value wine that would go well with food.
