Découvertes en Vallée du Rhône; 4/15/2019-4/16/2019 (Ampuis, Mauves and Tain-l'Hermitage) : Walk around tasting talking with the producers, brief note. From barrel. Lots here. Complex array of fruit that is clearly ripe, but with some intriguing bitter and tart supporting notes. Very exciting potential.

Bouquet and flavors of honeysuckle, peach, melon, lemon zest, apple and spice. Very long, mineral-driven finish. Served with grilled stuffed shrimp.

Aromas of honeysuckle, melon, nectarine, candied pineapple and ginger snap. Melon, pear, pineapple and mineral notes on the mid-palate. Leads to a long, soft, dry finish. Layered and dense with good acidic balance. Beautiful wine. Paired with steamed haddock and a lemon butter sauce.

Beautiful aromatics of honeysuckle, apricot, lime, lemon custard, mango, spice and wet stone. Apricot, melon, candied pineapple, lemon, lime, spice and minerals on the palate. Leads to a very long, soft, dry finish. Excellent acidic balance. A beautiful bottle and another outstanding white Rhone. Paired with chicken shepherds pie.
