Poderi Aldo Conterno, Langhe, Printanie

I last drank this in December 2013 (see note) and this has absolutely stood the test of time. Really impressive and a reminder of how Chardonnay can age in skilful hands. One point more. If you see it , buy it.

I assume this is the 'junior' chardonnay to Aldo Conterno's Bussiador. The last vintage I've seen on sale is 2010 and interestingly it doesn't feature at all on the Conterno website. Opened with middling expectations given its age, but it was in pretty good condition. Still enough acidity to balance the richness and that particular sour lemon note I love about Northern Italian Chardonnays. Too drink now and probably with food.
