Verdad Tempranillo Sawyer Lindquist Vineyard Edna Valley

Unusually light for tempranillo but very well balanced and excellent overall

International Tempranillo Day Tasting 2011 (Tapestry Restaurant, Los Gatos, California) : Dark purple red violet color; brett, tart plum nose; brett, tart plum palate with a sense of herb; medium finish (75% Tempranillo, 15% Grenache Cone 3, 10% Syrah; the brett really detracts from other flavors here)

Earthy nose with bright cherry notes. Blue & black fruit with smooth round tannins. Medium-long finish. Very nice.

Seemed a little heavy this time. But apart from that, there was some earth to go with the fruit that made it more interesting.
