Moderate tawny in the glass. Nose is straight off the bat port, showing great complexity from red fruit (red plum, redcurrant) to roasted walnuts, toffee and caramelised coffee. Full-bodied with a warming alcohol (19.5%) and bright acidity. Really great complexity and balance here, to the extent that I thought this was a vintage port. Top value.

Purchased for $26. Popped and poured. Served in a Riedel Vinum Port glass. Beautiful copper, burnt orange in color. This is delicious. Wonderful notes of butterscotch, almond and caramel on the nose. Sweet and delicious notes of caramel, walnut and toffee on the palate. There's hints of tropical fruit and pound cake on the finish. This is a fantastic 10-Year. Really well done. Grade: A

Monthly tasting club "The Tasting Club" 2022-1; Vintage Port (@ RvD by PvL) : Beautiful and complex, sweet bouquet with coffee and sweet spices. On the palate sweet spices, currants and raisins. mild sweetness, acidity and tannin. Beautiful wine.

Evolved colour, turning mahogany but not quite there yet. Raisiny, spirity nose. Fairly simple taste, spirity aftertaste. Lacking substance, the grapes are not up to the alcohol level. Average.

Love mix of red and brown elements for color, nose and palate. Bright and fresh with white cherry aspect. Slight wood and orange picks up on the nose. A redder tawny is really appreciated here. Slight minty element too. Super nice.

When first opened this seemed like a pretty average 10 year old tawny, but with air, specifically 24 hours, this really blossomed. Classic caramel, sultana raisins, wood spice and a lively orange/lemon/lime citrus tang that really perked up the palate. Lots of depth here for its level.

Purchased at the Quinta. Bottled in 2010. Wow! This is incredible stuff! Pop and Pour. Copper colored. A touch of volatility in the nose at first. But quickly blows off a minute or two. Tasted at Vinexpo. Amber color, hint of caramel in the nose, raisins and hazelnuts. Has the style of a tawny aged in the Douro valley and not in Gaia (were the temperature is cooler), more nutty than citrusy. Still it's elegant and well balanced. Complex, good length.
