The wine is a medium ruby color. There are brambly berries, black pepper, cherries, dark chocolate, dried herbs, and a touch of smoked meat on the very interesting and intriguing nose. The wine is barely medium body with fairly solid tannins and very nice acidity. Nose - comes across as sort of a strawberry vanilla candle - seems somewhat reminiscent of a Christmas past.... Taste - Cherries and raspberries, but dry and even with a touch of late grapefruit on the palate (but before the finish) Finish - long, dry fresh and clean. Starts out in the center palate, fans out to the outer palate and lingers with the mildest of oak. QPR? - I paid $15 - I'll let you be the judge....

A pleasant little surprise. Kind of a kitchen sink blend that delivers a mouth full of flavor. First off, it is very dark in color. Reasonably heavy in the mouth. Lots of fruit, and alcohol on the nose. It is not particularly layered and complex, but it is intense,especially the fruit. This is why we drink zin.
