525 days lapse. 8.5 % abv. AP 13. Poured at 50° F. After a pair of 2009 Huey Moelleux. This is tangy, herbal, assertive Sonnenuhr from Wehlen. sz

Wow this is a beauty. Vibrant and vibrating nose of orange, lemon, mango and honeyed peach. Palate delightfully mid weight or less, with mouth watering honeyed lemon and apple. Wonderful complexity and balance, combines density with unusual lightness for an Auslese. Oh my.

Picked up from the 2023 VDP auction - what a nice bottle. The cork was a little dodgy but the Durand pulled it through in one piece. Golden yellow as you would expect with something with this much age, but despite being an Auslese it's not as heavy on the palate as it would suggest. Very prominent notes of menthol and orange on the palate, and very refreshing to drink. Was a real treat to try this and if available …

Method: universal glass; chilled; at tasting dinner (and it was wine #11, so my notes might not be the best) Nose: apricot, tangerine marmalade, light petrol, unidentified tertiary note(s) Palate: apricot, tangerine; finish of light ginger and mineral; medium- sweetness; medium- body; medium+ zesty acidity Overall thoughts: This was showing even better than I expected as it's still rather vibrant. Nice tertiary notes on the nose and maybe starting to creep in on the palate make this extra interesting. This …

8.5 % abv. AP 13. Poured at 50° F. Positioned late in a meal cycle. Stunning bouquet. Maraschino; almond/pruneau; savory einkornbrot; Great clarity of flavor rarely coincides with such intensity of fraise/piña and appetizing, racy, bitterness. That latter front reclines immediately into barn-cured green tea, rhubarb, lime glycerin, and lemon peel fruiting mushroom bodies. Intensely sour apple sugar. Broiled in decades of mint sunshine. ________ 24 hours later, it thrives. Broth twig sap; translucent red soil; pistachio; strawberry.

Beau petit Riesling d`entrée de gamme. Nez florale et sur les fruits à chair blanche...peu de notes d`hydrocarbures! En bouche, riche et ample avec du sucre résiduel, manque un peu d`acidité mais très bien dans l`ensemble!

Distinct sugar. Gobs of stone fruit, especially peach. Not terribly complex, but very nice picnic wine, verynice indeed.

Citrus, honey and tropical fruit aromas emerge from this lovely wine. The sugar has nearly vanished by aging (not chemical but sensory). Could age several more years if the cork is in good shape. The cork of this bottle although well stored, begins to leak a little bit.
